What is the TD Authenticate™ app and how will it help me?

The TD Authenticate app provides an alternative, extra layer of security to protect your accounts when logging into TD Business Central, EasyWeb™ or WebBroker™. It is a separate app that you can use to generate a security verification code without the need for texts or phone calls.

Once you have downloaded and setup TD Authenticate app, you can generate a security verification code anytime as it doesn't require Wi-Fi or cell phone reception. This makes it a great security option for people who are travelling.

The TD Authenticate app is free to download through the App Store or the Google Play Store, however standard message and data rates may apply.

How do I delete my TD Authenticate app profile/registration?

  1. Log into TD Business Central.
  2. Go to User Profile
  3. Select Password & Security
  4. Select My Registered Devices
  5. Select Remove Device for the device you wish to delete, and it will remove the functionality for that profile within the TD Authenticate app.

Note: This does not delete the TD Authenticate app itself. If you wish to register the same device at a later time, you will need to go through the registration process again

Why isn't my security code from the TD Authenticate app working?

If your one-time security verification code isn't working, please check the following:

  1. Make sure you're logging into the correct TD Account. Check which account you're using on the TD Authenticate app homepage
  2. Make sure you've used the correct PIN. Try re-entering your PIN on the TD Authenticate app homepage
  3. Try re-entering the one-time security verification code you've been given before it expires
  4. You may have exceeded the number of attempts allowed. If so, you can use the text or call method for security validation

Make sure you're attempting to log into the correct platform. The TD Authenticate app is only for use with TD Business Central, EasyWeb and WebBroker. For other TD apps or digital platforms, please use the Two-Step Verification services they provide

When should I use TD Authenticate app versus TD Token for Business™ app?

Our new platform, TD Business Central offers online and mobile business banking that is secure, user-friendly and customizable. You can use TD Authenticate app to generate a security verification code for TD Business Central. The TD Authenticate app can also be used for other TD online banking application like EasyWeb and WebBroker. TD Authenticate app does not replace existing authentication methods for Web Business Banking. Web Business Banking will continue to use the TD Token for Business app or physical authentication device (hard token).

What are my Log in options for Two-Step Verification and how do they differ?

Two-Step Verification is an extra layer of security to protect your accounts. Any time we need to confirm your identity online, we'll text or call you with a one-time security code.

How it works

When we need to verify your identity online, there are two key steps:

Step 1: Log in as you normally would by using your login credentials.

Step 2: When we need to verify your identity online, we prompt you to get a one-time security code by text, voice message or TD Authenticate app. When you get your security verification code, you simply enter it onto the TD screen and continue banking.

To view, update and add phone numbers to receive one-time security verification codes, go to Security Settings. Please note that standard wireless carrier message and data rates may apply for text messages.

How do I update my security settings for Two-Step Verification?

You can view and update your phone numbers, email for security alerts, and log in options in Security Settings within TD Business Central.

Important: To update or add additional phone numbers in your Security Settings, you're required to have access to one of the phone numbers you've previously verified to receive a one-time security verification code.

Tip: You can adjust the frequency of being prompted for a one-time security code under Login Option security setting.

  1. Log in to TD Business Central
  2. Select your User Profile
  3. Select Password & Security to view and update your Security Phone Numbers, Security Email and Security Code Login Option

Will I have to do Two-Step Verification when I travel?

Two-Step Verification is required when you login to your account from a device we don't recognize. A recognized device is a device that you have used to log in to access your TD accounts before.

To avoid disruption while travelling, we encourage you to take the following steps:

Important: To update or add additional phone numbers in your Security Settings, you're required to have access to one of the phone numbers you've previously verified to receive a one-time security verification code.
